Day Twenty - My Thirty Days of Thanks

I am thankful for Support!

Support is many things to many people.

Support hose (panty hose).

Support bra (no explanation needed).

Supports are used in building.

Supports are groups.

Some people find support in their church (like my parents) or in their community.

My brother finds support in a grief group (can't remember the name) to deal with the loss of his wife.

My daughter finds support in sparkpeople.com for a healthy lifestyle.

Support can be found in some friends, co workers and / or family.

Social networks can be a support group.

I enjoy socializing here in the rain.

What a great blog for today! I, too, am so grateful for the people in my life who offer support. For example, we took a trip this past weekend to the state championship game for my son's football team. I seriously underestimated the amount of cash I would need for the weekend. After my son's team won the game, I went to look at the t-shirt vendor who was selling shirts to commemorate the game. I still had $20 in my pocket, so I asked about ordering a shirt (ridiculously priced at $17!). That's when the small print came into play. In order to customize the shirt with my son's last name and the final score of the game, I needed $32.

That's when my support kicked in. Some friends had joined us for the game. They didn't even hesitate to kick in the additional money needed to create the shirt for my son. And they refused to accept my money when we returned home!

I can't imagine this life without my friends!

Marylin, what a great idea to pick something each day to be thankful for! This would be a great addition to a gratitude journal. The last time I tried to journal about gratitude I had a hard time coming up with new stuff! It got pretty repetitive ;-)

Rebecca, Thanks for sharing your story. Support comes in many ways! Attending the event as well as pitching in for shirt - that's what are friends for!

Shanna, It's been fairly easy so far - and impromptu to some extent! Still have ideas coming - so I should get through the next ten days!
