Here is our Kodak Moment of the Day we Adopted.

Here is our Kodak Moment of the Day we Adopted. Our Dog Lola that is. If you have children you know there's always kodak moments. My kids had been asking for another dog for some time. We had lost our previous dog Buddy to a terrible disease called blastomycosis. It was the hardest for mom. I seen the special bond he had with the kids. He was the best dog we could have ever had, so I thought.

We adopted.

So the day come. Mom gave in. On August 6, 2010 it was Rachel's Birthday.  I thought I would surprise the kids and take them by the Robertson County Shelter to LOOK at the dogs. Well we walked in, got the tour, argued about who liked which dog best, which ones we were taking home, and how many could we have. Finally, I gave the I'm the mom rule.....Nobody agrees so we will have to come back some other time. Amazing how quick that statement can get a resolution.

Lola gets a Home.

Lola quickly found her place in our home and in our hearts. Give some thought to adopting. Check your local shelter or Petfinder to find a special friend.

Congrats on giving a great dog a home.  In this economy people are abandoning pets in record numbers.  Our shelter makes it very difficult to adopt animals, they even turned a local vet away, crazy stuff.  Happy New Year.

Congratulations on your new family member.  And good for you to adopt through the animal shelter.  Plenty of dogs are available and looking for a new forever home.

Thanks Mel. Yes it was hard to pick just one. But since we picked one that likes to chew shoes, mostly the neighbors, we're glad we only left with one. Glad the neighbors are animal lovers!

Yes Kate it is sad how some shelters operate. We have one here that rather kill than adopt. Eventually, the public got those in charge dismissed. It amazes me why any one would look any where else to pick out a pet.
