Are Your Clients Moving This Holiday Season?

truckI have several clients moving over the holidays.  Stress level is high...They need to get in and get settled so they can get their tree and holiday decorations up...Lenders are looking over their shoulders to make sure no big ticket items are being purchased and hopefully they locked their interest rates weeks ago!

I've been offering my clients a list of reputable movers to interview so they can schedule a smooth move!  Movers are booked at this time of the year and you want to make certain that you are getting a trustworthy company.  I'm also suggesting they ask friends and family who have moved and are please with their choice and the service they received.  With many people out of work some will recognize the opportunity to offer moving services and have little or no experience or equipment!

You don't want your things moved like these poor buyers!

Hi Jeffrey,

Moving is always stressful but around the holidays it can be much worse!

Good afternoon Dorie. I have seen stuff scattered all over the interstate. Nothing is more frustrating than getting home and finding that one of your sofa cushions is missing...

Dorie - The worst "move" experience I know about happened to my own daughter.  And yes it was during the holidays a few years back.  She and her husband received a bid from a moving company for the move.  BUT when moving day came, the movers wanted several hundred more dollars.  When my daughter refused, the movers placed the van in front of the driveway and refused to move it. It took a police visit to get them on their way.  There are unscrupulous movers out there, and the public needs to be aware of that!

Good afternoon Myrl,

Yes you do need to be careful..going with the cheapest can turn out to be a very bad choice!! Movers need to come out and see the merchandise they are moving and give you an estimate based on good solid information ..not over the phone!!!

Good evening Gary,

At this time of year it pays to take extra precaution so you are left out in the cold!
