Today was my first day of a three day seminar for Rich Dad Education.  It was a pretty long day, 8:30AM - 7:00PM.  I still don't know how I will come out of this.  As I mentioned once before, I am going because a great investor client of mine is going and wanted me to go with her.  So my motivation for going is a lot different then most in the class.  I must say that I am enjoying myself.  The instructor is keeping up on our toes and the day actually went by pretty fast.

We went over so much information today and we still have so much more to cover.  Now I'm worried that 3 days isn't enough!!!  Anyway,  I must admit that I am enjoying myself so far and I definitely see myself learning a lot over the next few days, even if it is knowledge that I just use to make myself a better agent.

I hope to fill you all in once the seminar is complete.

I have read a few articles by the author.  He seems like a smart guy.

Heh heh...  3 days isn't enough.  That's why they are going to try to sell you additional education at the end of the weekend.  It's good stuff though.

Tiffany - They have already started talking about that.  I know that I am not planning to spend 9K+ on more seminars, but my client is really psyched about all of this and is planning to attend additional training.  Wow....I'm wondering if he got rich off real estate or off his seminars!!!   Thanks for you comments.

I've been through similar training, and I think a mentor is better than spending that much money on training.  Some mentors will charge you, while others may just have you work for them for free, but you'll learn a lot.  The hard part of course is finding a good, reliable mentor that can teach you a lot.  Good luck!

I always get a few calls after this seminar comes through town. 

I do think his description of the difference between and assett and a liability is useful.  

Just like anything else, the seminar is just the tip of the iceburg.  The real learning is when you try to put it into practice.

Nora, this stuff is fun!  Even if you don't buy into the whole tape and training that can follow, I bet you'll take away a lot of great ideas you wouldn't have been exposed to otherwise.  Have fun, and please report back!

Quick comment about the 3 day $595, training.  we attended one in New Jersey a couple of months ago.  The end result my wife spent $68,000, yes three zeros on training, (American Express Card) yes they will encourage (and try and make you feel like a looser if you don"t) you to up your credit card limits.  You are led to believe this is so you can buy assets.  The real reason .  To pay for their training.  We have attended 3 of the classes so far.  Two of them were very good "Rich U", "Lease Options", the third "Manufactured/Mobile  Homes & RV Parks" was partly a waste.  Some of what is taught is dangerous to a inexperienced investors wealth.  We are in the Mobile Park business and did learn some things that are useful.   She did sign up for the "Internationhal Investing" course in Costa Rica.  From what I can gleen from comments on the net.  This seems like nothing more than a Timeshare presentation.  Only you pay $15,000, for the privilege.  Then they try to entice you to invest in their???   Our next class "Creative Finance" starts this Friday, in NYC.  Will let you know about that one.
