What a weird December - Tony Lewis * RE/MAX of Valencia

By
Real Estate Agent with Summit Real Estate Group BRE# 01215778

Traditionally December brings the lowest interest rates of the year.  December of 2010 has given us about a 1/2 % Rise in interest rates.  Traditionally December brings out the least buyers.  December of 2010 has the phones ringing off the hook with well qualified and motivate buyers.

The media reports indicate that home sales have plummeted and the same with pending home sales.  Further more jobs reports show a decline.  The Fed has bought down the interest rates yet this December buyers and sellers are seeing a contrary result.  Does this officially indicate that we are long past the bottom of the market and the real estate future is bright?

I believe you are right!  The best time for any buyer to make thier way back into the market is NOW - before the rest of the buyers figure it out, and then the frenzy creates price increases... We've been steady up here in Vancouver - but not crazy busy...I think that will change early in January... Cheers - Wendy Betts - Vancouver BC

Hi Tony,

I agree.

Seems like an unusually busy December.

I got four listings yesterday.

Two new offers today.

I think the interest rates going up might have something to do with it

Merry Christmas
