We are clocking time ... it's now 10:15 AM in the East, and 7:15 AM in the West. We've just received our first call from California where my real estate buddy, Joan, is visiting her daughter and granddaughter. I sent my first text message thanking my daughter-in-law for our gift sent by mail a few days ago. Wait ... the phone just rang again, a call from Pennsylvania from second home owners here in Ocean City saying hello and wishing us a "Merry Christmas." So we are getting ready for breakfast right now. Had our hot tea and some fruit and now on to the omlets.
It's b a cold, crisp morning here, but it appears that the snow will be further north for Christmas. We drive up to Point Pleasant (NJ) about 1.5 hours on the Garden State Parkway to my wife's close cousin for a late afternoon dinner. We plan to return to Ocean City in the early evening. We turn around a drive up to Burlington for a buffet at the Cafe Gallery downtown on Sunday when we meet Leslie's two sisters and the various family members who can make it. Our son and his wife, of course, are in California so they will not make it back this year ... although it appears Nick might be in for several days just before New Years.
So what is the major present for the Peters' family ... we each got a Kindle from Amazon ... the cheapest version for $139 which will provide us with our introduction to the "e-reading world." They are powered up, and it appears we may buy a few e-books this morning. Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2011.
So why am I on the computer this early in the day ... to print out the instructions for the Kindle so we can read them as we roll along. Enjoy the day with family and friends!!! dap
