2010 White Christmas in Hendersonville NC

When I awoke this morning at about 6:30, I was so sad to see that there wasn't a flake of snow anywhere. All week we heard about this big snow storm coming in, and a promise of a White Christmas. I was so looking forward to a day or two of being snowed in. I went so far as to stock up on food just in case.

But low and behold, around 8:30 it started. It was those big, huge flakes that are so pretty to watch fall. It started slow, but got thicker and thicker. After about an hour it was really building up and it was beautiful. I took my trusty lab out for a long walk. She absolutely loves the snow and runs circles around me. We had a blast.

It continued all day and about 5:00 I went out with a ruler, curious to see what the depth was. I was really surprised! So far, 4 and 3/4 inches! Here are some pictures of the end of the day in Hendersonville NC.

Living in Wisconsin, we take snow for granted and complain a lot about it....I happen to LOVE it, at least until about February!  I am glad you enjoyed a white christmas-it is beautiful!

I think the south must not see it very often. I have been here for 6 years now and only get it about once or twice a year now. I came from Iowa and so I too used to complain all the time. Now I miss it and love it when it comes.

That made me smile Jerry, the idea of missing Iowan winters. Pretty sure it's not something I would miss.:-)

Glad is snowed just in time for you to get a White Christmas. 4 3/4 inches definitely counts!

Enjoy the rest of the Holiday weekend. Best Wishes for 2011.

Denise-I never would have believed that would come from my mouth! But I only miss it a little. Daily snow would make me very sad again. Just once a year is fun and enjoyable.
