Treecycle Denver 2011! January 3rd - January 14th
I heard a story about this on 850 KOA radio this morning, so I thought I'd do some research about it. The City of Denver has a wonderful program to recycle your Christmas to make mulch for Spring Landscaping!
If you are a dumpster service customer in the City of Denver, place your Christmas Tree out for recycling on either Monday, January 3rd or Monday, January 10th.
If you are a barrel and manual service customer in the City of Denver, place your christmas Tree out for recycling on your normal trash days between January 3rd and January 14th.
Service Notes: DO NOT PLACE TREES IN DUMPSTERS. Trees should be placed at least 4 feet away from dumpsters. No artificial or flocked trees.
Treecycle Drop-off Option: Residents may drop-off Christmas Trees for recycling at the City's Havana Nursery facility at 10450 Smith Road. (Enter the gate off of Havana Street about a 1/2 mile south of I-70). Open Monday - Friday, 7am - 2pm.
***Don't forget to remove all the decorations and the tree stand prior to recycling your Christmas Tree!***
After April 1, 2011, residents may call 3-1-1 for more information about the 2011 Treecycle Mulch Giveaway and Leafdrop Compost Sale. The mulch from the Christmas Trees will be made available for FREE to Denver residents.
