Actually it wasn't really that difficult. As some of you may have read, I decided earlier this year to obtain my broker's license. It was originally between that or my CRS designation.
Many agents had contradicting opinions on which one I should pursue first but ultimately, the broker's license makes more sense for ME.
So I originally attended my pre-licensing broker's training in April. Life got busy & I didn't finish up my fingerprinting until July. Life got busy again & I didn't schedule my exam until a couple of weeks ago. Well I thought in those 2 weeks I'd have lots of time to study but that wasn't the case.
I had all of 30 minutes to study on Thursday night - the night before my exam.
When I arrived at the testing site yesterday, I had my approval from the state saying I was ready to go (application approved, course completed, etc). Well I didn't bring my class completion certification. OOPS. Here I am almost an hour from my house, ready to test with one piece of paper standing between me & the testing computer. GRRR. I ask if we can go online & verify on myfloridalicense.com - nope...they do not have internet access there. Um ok, so I call the school I attended to see if they may be able to fax a copy over. They say "no, we don't keep those". WOW. Um ok. Then she says, "Well if you have an idea of when you took the course I can go see if I can find it in the files & create you a new certificate, but it will cost you $25." Well, I guess I have no choice. "I attended in April, so & so was the instructor, etc. - thank you." 30 minutes later across the exam site's fax comes my certificate. :) I'm ready to go!
Now it's about 1:00PM. The test was scheduled to begin at 12PM I think. I am stripped of all personal belongings, even down to sunglasses & a watch! To the computer I go.
The exam wasn't easy but it wasn't incredibly difficult either. There were a few questions I marked for review because I just wasn't for sure if my answer was correct or not. But out of 100 points I was allowed to miss 25 so I wasn't extremely worried.
I finish up a little bit after 2PM & go out where they hand me my PASS certificate. YAY! I am now officially a holder of a Florida Broker's license.
Now, I'm still at my company, Sellstate Achievers Realty Network, Inc. But I am now a Broker-Sales Associate & have the qualifications to open up my own brokerage should I ever choose to.
I'm excited & for anyone out there worried about the broker's exam....RELAX. It was NOT as difficult as everyone makes it seem. When you think it will be you'll create inner anxiety & then you will not do as well.
So there, that's my story of yesterday.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR INPUT WITH MY ORIGINAL POST! (Wow, just saw that that was over a year ago! Time really does FLY) ACTIVE RAIN IS AWESOME!
Hope everyone is having a GREAT weekend!
