Pike County PA - Childs Park

Real Estate Agent with WEICHERT, REALTORS® Paupack Group RS301772

One of the most beautiful spots in Pike County, in northeastern Pennsylvania, is Childs Park.

Located in Dingmans Ferry, this scenic spot is part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreational Area.

I spent a Sunday afternoon enjoying the waterfalls, hiking the relatively easy trail to the bottom - seeing more and more of the Pocono Mountains' natural beauty each step of the way.

Many other people were enjoying it along with me including a bunch of teenagers, who were breaking the no-swimming rule (but on such a hot day, I don't know who could resist the sparkling pools and cool misty showers!) The smell of barbecued hamburgers coming from one of the picnic shelters made me wish I had packed my own picnic lunch!

One gentleman was meditating on a large rock, with the flowing stream surrounding him. I paused to watch him for a while, thankful that we have such a beautiful place here in Pike County (indeed, it is but one of many) to renew our strength, to enjoy, to live...

Childs Park - Dingmans Ferry PA. Yours to enjoy.

If you're considering moving to Pike County because you want to discover all of this Pocono beauty more often and from your back yard, feel free to conact me. I'll be happy to help.

Karen- Oh my word! This RES is absolutely gorgeous! I love the waterfalls at Child's Park, it makes me want to jump on a plane and get right there to enjoy it with you! WOW~ how beautiful. I know now I need to go and see this part of the country. I have been everywhere except the upper east coast and PA and a few of those area states. Thanks for posting this. Katerina

VERY GORGEOUS!!!  What a wonderful place to spend the day!  Thanks for sharing!  I have always been intrigued with the Pocono's; someday I need to make it there for a visit.

Beautiful use of RES.  The waterfalls and stream in the picture are very scenic.  No wonder people flock to the Poconos.  No swim rule?  That must be hard to enforce.

Dear Joe:  thank you for the comment.  Peaceful is probably the best word to describe Childs Park!

Rita:  Thanks for the compliments and the comment!  Yes, the no swim rule is hard to enforce; the park rangers can't be everywhere at once.  Years ago it used to be a swimming hole, but for people's safety, since there is no lifeguard, they have the rule.

Marchel - you would love a visit to the Poconos.  I will show you all the best places - but man, that would take a long time!  LOL

Katerina - I'm glad you enjoyed it.  As I said to Marchel - I'll be happy to show you where to go!  :)

Hi Karen:

I know your area very well, actually looking to buy property as we are opening a Matamoras branch location of TruClose. We've closed on over 100 properties this year with local banks, brokers and lenders. You live in truly one of the most beautiful and tranquil areas on Earth :). Raymondskill Falls (I'm pretty sure that was the name) was fantastic! Treacherous though to walk but so beautiful!
