If Today Where The First Day I Ever Blogged...

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Results MN#20344949 WI#93113-94

Lets just say this was the first blog post I have ever written, but I had the knowledge from the previous 1000 or so blogs I have posted to Active Rain and all of the other blogs I manage...

Here is what I would do:

1. Make sure there is great content in every post.  Something that helps a buyers and sellers or something that helps my readers here on active rain. I would not post a random thought just to get 200 points.

2. I would make any Real Estate related post more SEO friendly.  I would use short tail and long tail keywords several times in each post, so that I get more calls from buyers and sellers who found me on the internet.

3. I would build better relationships with the people who have taken time to comment on my blog, by going to theirs and commenting or sending a thank you message.

Learning from mistakes makes us better and gives us the knowledge to rise higher. I have been doing much better in the last 2-3 months with my content.  Now I need to improve my SEO friendliness (if thats a term).  Finally I am thankful for those who take the time to read my posts, so doing better at returning the favor is another new priority!

These are simple tips to follow if you have not mastered blogging yet, perhaps this is a place for you to start as well!

Chuck,

This is another one of the great AR posts, I love all the how to blogs.  Every time I come on AR I pick up a new tip, latest market trend or just some great information!  By applying all of this, I am sure that the clients will start calling soon too!

Thanks again for helping another blogger out!

Hi Chuck - Good points! I can see how my view of blogging has changed over the short period in which I've been in AR. And I definitely have my "mentors" - people who post great, informative content in every post - Valerie Zinger is a great example of this.

Although I do find the occasional inspiring post to be a good thing, along with some humor.

Jeramie, thanks for your comment.

Judy, I do like the inspirational and humorous posts too. If its part of your personality to write that I do agree to mix that in as well.  There is value in inspiration and humor is needed too!

Chuck, I think you are spot on.  Blogging can be a powerful tool but only if we do it correctly by following the pointers you outlined, thanks for the reminder.

Chuck, blogging is a bit of an art, and it takes a while to learn it. The people who stick with it are the ones who will reap the rewards. One of the tricks is not to get too discouraged the first little while when it feels like you are blogging in a vacuum.

Good points Chuck, although, I have found the personal posts have received as much and even more attention then the ones with a lot of information.

People call and have read my blogs and feel they already know me.
