9 Comments on URL Website Address in Comment Signature Block
Good luck with that!
I still can't get AR to credit all my comments. I'll do 5, get credit for four. I'll do 12, but only get credit for 10. I had to actually keep doing comments to get to the 10 maximum allowed per day. I check the counter to see how many get missed.
And it happens almost evryday now.
Hi Jon,
I hear you. Well, a guy has got to try. I know this technique works, but getting AR to change is another thing. Maybe if I can make them think it is their idea? Just maybe.
Another reason to include a website url in your comment signature block is to differentiate each of us from others who have the same or similar personal name or business name. Helps avoid confusion and give credit where credit is due.
Sorry to hear your comments are not fully credited. I don't think I have seen that on my end. Wish I could offer some help. I have been in touch with AR Support but no feedback yet on my suggestion.
Good luck with your cause. I hope you make some headway.

Good idea, I think, but honestly I wouldn't even know how to do this!
Hello Brenda,
Thank you for your comment. If you are asking about how to contact ActiveRain Support, just scroll down to the bottom of any AR page you are on and look for "Contact ActiveRain". That is the path into Support. You can even copy/paste my comments above by highlighting my text and including in your comment to Support. If enough AR people contacted AR Support we might be able to get this done.
Change is hard, but this change would benefit all AR participants. Your new signature block could look like the one below that I would like to use. Clean, simple and highly effective.
Thank you,

Richard, I have no problem with your idea. I do believe there has to be a bright yellow line that identifies where/when someone has crossed over into intrusion. I personally welcome you [home inspector] identifying yourself as such, and including your URL. As on Facebook, I'm not thrilled about some gung-ho, over-the-top agent pushing him/herself on my page. Again, I would have no problem if Lenn Harley (example) included her URL when she contributed one of her insightful comments on my post. On the other hand, the agent who comments "Nice post. Thank you." and adds the URL (with nothing more substantial) solely to boost SEO, and advertize in my yard--that would not sit well with me. Perhaps, AR could empower the owner of the post to grant/deny permission.
I can see difficulties for AR in this; but there are so many good minds here that I believe it could be done. Maybe a QR Code would work...
See you later this morning at EMTAR...
Hi Fred, thanks for your comment. Great working with you again today in the Tennessee Home Inspection class at EMTAR.
I appreciate your points regarding including the url in signature blocks. I really like your point about the "Nice post. Thank you." comments people use just to check a square and generate points. I feel that is more of an intrusion than anything. Those brief self-serving comments do little to lift the AR team, add to the conversation, or enhance the image of AR in anyone's mind. I suggest that well thought out comments with brief but SEO-friendly signature blocks will increase the internet visibility of all AR participants. There is a right way and a wrong way to create Google Juice. According to my readings, URLs in the signature block is the right way.
And the other point you make is correct. If an AR blog author does not like someone's comment, they can always just delete it.
Thanks Fred

AR has a lot of growing yet to do --- we just got an 800# so we could call and speak to a person. Patience.
