Good weekend to get out in Boulder County!

Lafayette Skate Park

This is going to be a nice warm weekend for a change in Boulder County! Good opportunity to get out look for properties, visit open houses, take your puppies for a walk, go for a bike ride or...................visit the new Lafayette Skate Park!

A few weekends ago, I had the opportunity to visit the new skate park; it is AMAZING! While I am not a skateboarder I was definitely tempted to give it a try. The only thing that held me back was the thought of a trip to the emergency room, since I am such a klutz!

Lafayette Skate Park

The new skate park is a real draw for young and old boarders alike. The city of Lafayette has really done a great job getting the right designers, and engineers to do the job! This state-of-the-art skate park has definitely set a new standard. Still not sure?........just ask any skateboarder......they'll echo my accolades for this great park!

Vickie: It is wonderful that the city would build this park. Probably so many arguments against it--I can hear them now--but what a great place to provide for young and old to be safe and enjoy their community!

Post pictures of you doing your tricks on that ramp I see!

The Lafayette Skate Park in Boulder CO looks like a great way to spend an afternoon - I know if I lived closer I wouldn't be able to keep my son from there!

Julissa, it is a great park and it is located right behind the community recreational center. Opening day was in early January and it was COLD.....but it didn't deter all the young skaters who had been anxiously waiting for it to open. If i did tricks on that ramp, you'd see pictures of me being attended to by the paramedics! LOL!

Hi Vickie, that is some skate board park. They went all out in the development of that. I would be wearing all kinds of casts if I tried that...LOL!!

Kerry, I'd like to try, but I know it would result in a trip to the emergency room! I can still remember when I was brave enough to try roller blades for the first time. I sat on the front step put them on, held onto the side of the garage until I got to the drive. Unfortunately, our driveway sloped to the street, once I started gaining momentum on the drive I didn't know how to stop! I basically ran into the side of truck across the drive (not pretty). I can't imagine the trouble I could get into if I were on a skate board!
