8 Attitudes That Make for a Bad Impression

What kind of impression are you making? If you walk in a room, shoulders slumped, frown on your face, unkempt hair and you expect someone to want to get near you? Are you crazy? Of course, I'm exaggerating to make a point. We all would agree that you can't portray yourself that way and get very far. But there are other subtleties that undermine that may not be as apparent as these. (Or are they?) I have some in the list below grouped as "attitudes." It's more than just our physical appearance that contributes to the impression we make. Our "attitude" adds a lot to it. (Ya think?) And we're all turned off by selfishness in others. It's really what's at the core of each of the following. 8 Attitudes That Make for a Bad Impression...

1. "I blow up at the drop of a hat."

2. "I've been hurt." (victim)

3. "I deserve my fair share."

4. "I'm better than you." (haughty)

5. "You owe me."

6. "I need to be in charge." (controlling)

7. "The world is out to get me."

8. "You're a means to my end."

As you read the list remember impressions count. Make yours a good one!

Good advise! Non verbal communication speaks volumes about who and what we are!

Tara: very good and astute of you to know this---I forget now and then so it helps to be reminded---I think we all have slip-ups now and then so to keep these in mind is crucial to keeping business rolling in! Thank you for sharing them!

Tara,

Great reminders. You never get a second chance to make a good first impression. We tell our kids that everyday you have a choice in your outlook. You can choose to be in a good one or bad one, everyday!

Good post!

I agree!  I think people sometimes lose sight of the message they are sending out.  A positive attitude can help you get so much further in your success.
