In this day and the market we are dealing with it's even more important that we as Professional Realtors respond in a manner that's an eye opener to our clients.
We need to display our level of dedication to our clients... and this past Saturday was no different.
Momma always said, "Work Before Play" and I've translated that as an adult to "Business Before Pleasure."
I have 4 girlfriends that I went to high school with that I'm still extremely close to.
Each year for the last 10 years we've been having and annual "Big Chill" get together.
The "Big Chill" event this past weekend was wrapped into a Shrimp Boil (MMMmmm) with even more people that we knew in attendance.
Just as I sat down with some lucious beautifully large shrimp, sausage, boiled potatoes and corn (is your mouth watering yet?) my cell phone rang.... "Hello... this is Fran."
It was a young couple, first time sellers, who were referred to me by someone that use to work for me in the non-profit sector. Needless to say, they were distraught.
They'd had their house on the market for four months and it hadn't sold. Nothing had seemed to go right, no communication from their agent, no feedback and they weren't happy. She said the only time they heard from him was when they called him (you don't have to raise your hand if you are guilty of this, just know it in your heart).
They were upset and tired of the job their agent was doing, so they fired him.
We chatted for a little while and I told her that as soon as I got home I would look up some information for her and see if I could set her mind at rest.
As I ate my shrimp, I knew there was someone who needed my help. I knew how important it was to them and I knew how impatient I would be if I were waiting for the answers I wanted.
Right after we ate, my wonderful husband and I said our goodbyes and left so I could take care of business.
I always try to imagine how someone else feels when they are in a pickle.... it's worked out for me, how about you?
