Tuesday Antelope

Almost everyday I get to see Antelope as well as different species of deer very close to our home.  Sometimes they are right in our yard so it is not easy to miss them as they walk through the area.  The antelope for the most part are returning from the river to get a drink.  On the way back to their chosen area they will stop to graze in a very large hay field along the highway.

Today there are not as many as usual but there were about fifteen scattered across the field and into the wooded area.  One females looked as if she was about to give birth and another one pictured is not too far from giving birth.  I did not get too close because I did not want to cause her to move to another area.

There were three different antelope bucks in the herd and one pictured here was not too far away.  My little camera is not at the top of the chart as far as equipment so they are just snapshots.

Don, Those are some great photos!  I used to see a lot of antelope around here, but I don't see them very often anymore.  I guess more people equals fewer antelope sightings.

Chris, Thanks again for the comments and have a great week.

Steve, You live in an area of very good wildlife species and I am sure there are antelope around .

Tony & Darcy,  You are so right more people less wildlife and that is too bad.  Keep your camera ready.

Toni, Thanks for the comments and yes this is a great place to live but so is your area.  And you have a fun day and week.

Don - I miss the wildlife since we moved from the "country" to the "burbs". But we never did have exotic antelope around. Great pictures.

Mike, We don't know what we miss until we move to another location.  The antelope and other wildlife here are just one of the reasons this area is so popular.  Thanks for the comments.

Makes me want to start singing, "Home on the Range!"

Looks like animal kingdom instead of a home town!

You are such a lucky fellow, Don. I would love to see that many antelope (or even one) in my back yard. Reminds me of a song....oh, I know. Where the deer and the antelope roam.

Toni, WOW! You are right on, today there was a new baby antelope trying to get across the highway.  It could not have been more than two/three days old and I wanted to get it and bring it home because it was so cute. I guess it got lost from it's mother.  I want to hear tyou sing that song so why not do a Youtube bit??
