Springtime in Paris - The Perfect Theme for a Flower Show!

Yesterday, I went to the Philadelphia Flower Show. With a theme of Springtime in Paris, it really couldn't be better! Right at the entrance, the first thing you see is what appears to be the base of the Eiffel Tower. Oh! how my heart lifted at seeing that!

There were topiary-like insects that appeared to be parts of a carousel.

And gorgeous flowering trees and borders gave the illusion that I really had somehow slipped into Spring.

Some exhibits were themed, such as the "Dream of Flowers" where much of what looks like bedding is actually flowers and leaves.

There was a four-part series where objects were set up cleverly to cast a shadow that looked like a woman.

All in all, it was fun to connect with my friends, lovely to feel as though I'd been transported to Paris, and totally delightful to have an hour or two immersed in Spring!

Hi Janet - I'm with you on that! I love Paris and just about anything French. We are eagerly awaiting Spring here, and will be very happy when the last of the snow mounds disappear completely.

Hi Valerie - I do feel lucky about getting to see this show. It was absolutely rejuvenating. The topiaries were pretty astonishing in their detail. I confess, I did touch some of the plants and flowers. I love that coolness of the petals, and the furry softness of some of the leaves. I'm glad you like my photos!
