Great tips on Remodeling your home!

A good remodel should not look like a remodel.  It should match the remodeled custom homes in the area.  You should not cut costs to jeopardize opportunities for increased value.  Since many buyers always look at square footage, always make use of as much square footage as possible.  For example, if you have attic space available or covered patio which is under roof, it is always a cheap way to add square footage.  Remodels that emphasize good design will sell for many thousands of dollars more than remodels of equal square footage with poor design.  Having a good architect, designer and contractor will help improve design. A cooperative team approach in design allows the remodeler to keep an eye on the budget, the quality of the work and the timeliness of the project.  Regular meetings between these people can save you money, develop a relationship between them and catch mistakes before they happen.

Keep in mind during this process of remodel to keep the value of property in check and don't over build for the neighborhood.  For more ideas on remodeling check out www.villaparkhomes.com
