Guilford Connecticut School Information

By
Real Estate Agent with Real Estate

Whether you are considering a move to the Connecticut Shoreline or are currently a resident of Guilford you undoubted want to know all about the school system.  The property values of real estate are affected by several factors and the quality of public school education ranks high on the value list.

Unlike the majority of towns in Connecticut that use a 3 tiered educational system consisting of Elementary, Middle & High School levels Guilford breaks it down into four steps.  Youngsters entering Kindergarten will attend the elementary school though grade 4.  In fifth & sixth grade they move to the middle school and switch again to another junior high level middle school for 7th & 8th grade.

Enrollment within the Guilford Public School system is approximately 4000, with just under 600 attending each of the middle schools and around 1200 in high school. SAT scores of Connecticut Students can be found on-line, Guilford ranks quite high with the average of just under 1600.  In addition to the quality academics there are a full range of sporting events.  The fall schedule can be found Here.

Excellent Resource for ANYONE moving to Guilford, CT Dan!  This is such a hot topic for families with children in or ready to start school.  Do your schools have a rating system given by the state for scores?  (I'm curious because we have it here.)

Dan, that is interesting.  Here in Middletown are schools are K - 5, then sixth graders are in their own school, Middle School is 7th & 8th grades, and High School 9th - 12th.
