Laughter Does A Heart Good

Every one at one time or another needs a good laugh or two to see them through a rough spot or a hard time in their lives. Even if that is not the case, a good bout of laughter can uplift anyone's spirits and help them see things in a much more positive light.

I find myself turning to either laughter, usually in the form of comedy, or to music to soothe that savage beast I talked about earlier in Compliments Soothe A Savage Beast.

I am centering my efforts in this post to laughter being the best medicine any one can take or any one can prescribe. It makes one feel better almost instantaneously.

I am going to present three different excerpts from the "Who's Line Is It Anyway?" show by Drew Carey to bring this point home. These excerpts have guest appearances by Robin Williams (in 2 of them) and the last one will have an excerpt when Richard Simmons was on the show.

If you know anything about this show, they have four comediens that perform out the sketches given them "ad lib". These people are pros and are excellent doing this. In fact I believe that part of their studies included doing things known as "improv" and this show is based around that concept.

I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing all of them tonight and laughed my head off. I can only hope that you will experience the very same reaction that I did.

Catherine, I, too, love this show. Too much violence and "downers" types of shows on tv now. I love being entertained and being "picked up" and I get this from this show. We all can use this happiness type of show, one that brings a smile to our faces, instead of all the gloom and doom that's on tv now. I hate that. They're good shows but they all have such an evil or wrong doing theme running through them. Those shows don't do anythng for me but bring me down further. I love laughing and having a good time and this show does that for me. I always walk away in much better spirits.

Mike, that's why I say that laughter is the best medicine. It is so good for us. We all get too caught up in our daily lives and in our hectic schedules. I thought this would be a great way to unwind and "stop and smell the roses" a bit. We all should take the time to relax and enjoy instead of being under the gun and stressed out so much. I know I'll be checking this video out from time to time. Be sure to check out Part 2 of 2 of this. It's just as funny.

Maria, I too like Robin Williams. He is soooooo quick and so hysterical. I have heard that he is so "ad lib" that when they shoot him in anything he does, they have a hard time getting the shots they want because he just goes off on his tangents. He is quite a talent. Has a lot to offer.

Endre, I know, Robin does make you laugh, doesn't he????? He is so funny and he what he does and says is so unexpected. He is a very talented guy. How can you not laugh at him??? Doug, you're right, laughter can cancel out ANYTHING bad happening in one's day. It's a great solution to a bad day. I know we all have those so I had to share what I found as I was vegging and relaxing last night.
