This 4th week of football will bring about a great game with a couple of flamboyant players on both sides of the ball.
The New England Patriots face off against the Cincinnati Bengals. One year ago today they faced each other and the Pats were victorious in that game as they will in tonights match-up too.
The Patriots picked up a few great players during the off season and have really bolstered their offense while solidifying their defense.
They picked up Randy Moss from Oakland and Adalius Thomas from Baltimore. Randy looks like a kid in a candy shop he seems rejuvenated and he looks like he is having fun. Thomas is the spark the Pats needed, he is quick and very strong. Speed is what was lacking last year as the Pats folded in Indianapolis as they were worn out after their victory over San Diego.
One of the biggest surprises was the acquisition of Miami Dolphins wide-out Wes Welker. I am one happy camper seeing him come on board. This guy is good. He reminds me of Fred Biletnikoff of the Oakland Raiders of years gone by. He is a lot quicker than Fred but he runs his pass patterns just as well. He was a Patriot killer when he was with Miami.
The Bengals are a high powered offensive team with a wide receiver that is a great player with an attitude of "look at me, see me, here I am. His dances and trash talking are amongst the leagues best. He can pour it on. He can fly down the field and the Pats will have a tough time containing him tonight. The Bengals rank in the top 4 in points, yards and they rank second in passing yards just ahead of the Patriots. They rank 22nd in rushing and look for them to air the ball out early on in this game.
The Patriots are number one in points and yards and are third in passing yards and 6th on the ground. Look for the Pats to pound the ball on the ground and take time off the clock as they will open it up in the air whenever possible.
Patriots 45
Bengals 21
