Monday night football Pats vs. Bengals

This 4th week of football will bring about a great game with a couple of flamboyant players on both sides of the ball.

Patriots The New England Patriots face off against the Cincinnati Bengals. One year ago today they faced each other and the Pats were victorious in that game as they will in tonights match-up too.

The Patriots picked up a few great players during the off season and have really bolstered their offense while solidifying their defense.

They picked up Randy Moss from Oakland and Adalius Thomas from Baltimore. Randy looks like a kid in a candy shop he seems rejuvenated and he looks like he is having fun. Thomas is the spark the Pats needed, he is quick and very strong. Speed is what was lacking last year as the Pats folded in Indianapolis as they were worn out after their victory over San Diego.

One of the biggest surprises was the acquisition of Miami Dolphins wide-out Wes Welker.  I am one happy camper  seeing him come on board. This guy is good. He reminds me of Fred Biletnikoff  of the Oakland Raiders of years gone by. He is a lot quicker than Fred but he runs his pass patterns just as well. He was a Patriot killer when he was with Miami.

Bengals The Bengals are a high powered offensive team with a wide receiver that is a great player with an attitude of "look at me, see me, here I am. His dances and trash talking are amongst the leagues best. He can pour it on.  He can fly down the field and the Pats will have a tough time containing him tonight. The Bengals rank in the top 4 in points, yards and they rank second in passing yards just ahead of the Patriots. They rank 22nd in rushing and look for them to air the ball out early on in this game.

The Patriots  are number one in points and yards and are third in passing yards and 6th on the ground. Look for the Pats to pound the ball on the ground and take time off the clock as they will open it up in the air whenever possible.

Hi Tino, come on the Bengals couldn't even defeat the pathetic Browns. The Bengals can open it up via the air so it should be fun to watch.

Laurence Maroney is OUT for tonights game.

Linda, That will be a god game too. I enjoy the Cowboys too. The good ole days with Roger Staubach and company. I have an autograph of Drew Pearson when I met him at an NAR convention a few yrs. ago.

Moni, I am always right. LOL

Jay, Drew Pearson is such a class act. He does some sports analysis on one of our local stations on Sunday night and he comes across so well. A friend of mine sold him a house here in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex a couple of years ago. I'm just sorry I didn't have THAT connection!

I got to speak to him for a couple of minutes and he was a real gentleman. We talked a little about Stanley Morgan a wide receiver for the Patriots a long time ago. He had a lot of respect for him as I did Drew. It was fun.

I also have  a signed ball from Jim Palmer who pitched for the Orioles and all the women wanted to see him in his underwear instead of a suit. LOL

All these from NAR conventions we attended.

Jay -- it looks as though the Pats have an edge b/c Chad and Carson were having a tiff right before half-time.  The Bengals defense is playing better than they did last week --I guess you cannot get any worse.

I am happy for Randy.

Jay my sister would love to get her hands on the baseball you have signed by Jim Palmer. I never thought he was all that good looking, but I do believe my sister would have run away with him if he asked!

I have to say Tom Brady and the NE defense are the only things keeping me alive in fantasy football and giving me points.  I picked up Morris (RB) and he did well this week too.  I think you guys are headed for the big game again this year!
