Push the SUGGEST button!

Active Rain blogs have been my main source of real estate news since January. Now don't get me wrong, I read local, regional and state news pertaining to real estate but it's the AR blogs that are so darn interesting...

And that's where the subject of this blog comes in... when you read a blog do you wonder why some get featured and others don't? Well I can tell you that I don't know that answer either but I have a couple of criteria for when I hit the SUGGEST button:

•· Does the post move me? And I don't mean like an earthquake...but with some emotion. Hit the suggest button

•· Is this an unusual article that I haven't seen since I began reading blogs in January 2011? Hit the suggest button

•· How unique is the subject matter? Hit the suggest button

I'm proud to say that I'm called a SHOT MASTER.....don't ask me if this Texas gal can shoot a gun - I'm a SHOT MASTER only on ACTIVE RAIN and in a basketball game!

I've been able to "predict" 6 posts that have gone on to be featured.

So I'm on a mission to find those unique, unusual, emotionally charged features that might appeal to just me or to lots in the AR community!

Kathy: If I knew the "secret" to being featured I might have more than just two. And I agree-lots of great writers on AR. And lots who need to be featured that haven't.

Liz and Bill-thanks for your encouragement and you taught me something today....DIDN'T KNOW YOU HAD ONLY 5 SUGGESTS a day! O well...my finger still wants to hit that button when I see a good post.

Elizabeth: Congrats that you found AR. Use your AR Voice.....post, post, post. And that SUGGEST BUTTON will be used for you one of these days.

Karen: Thanks for the SLAM DUNK comment....never could do it in basketball-my 5'10" height was too short but at least I can be a SHOT MASTER on AR. Love your HOMEGROWN TITLE.

Dave: What a unique idea - not to announce you've SUGGESTED! I too hit the SUGGEST button even though others have done so.

Grace: I don't know if you have to have a number of people hit the SUGGEST button on the same post to get featured or not but don't give up...my first ever post was FEATURED and it's taken me almost 4 months to get another one FEATURED. This is post number 29 so I guess I'm an ever 29 kind of FEATURED writer!

Diane: it really doesn't matter why you hit the SUGGEST button....what matters is that something moved you! Keep reading...

Tammie: A woman who thinks like me....do you also try to predict your cards in Vegas?? Now that doesn't work for me.

Richie: Wouldn't it be nice that the SUGGEST button lit up when you hit it and sent streamers through the air???? Instead it goes dark from your screen...I'm sure you have an accurate button just hid under the invisibility cloth.

Tammy: My gun skills doesn't make me a Texas Gal...I doubt they would want me to have a gun in my hands- but give me a SUGGEST button and I can shoot with the best of the AR-ers.

Karen: I'm glad you like my list of reasons to SUGGEST...I'm sure others have some reasons to add to that list - what about you?

Ann: I read the daily roll to find that diamond in the rough...and alot of times it isn't on the first page of the roll - I read 3-4 pages or more deep. Keep searching and reading

Gwynn -- I notice that the "SUGGEST" button appears on some blog posts, but often does not appear at all. Do you know the reason for that? How does the Suggest button get there?

John: I believe the SUGGEST button isn't present on those post that aren't your own! That's my guess but then that's a question to pose to the higher ups in AR. Thanks for taking the time to comment on this post of long ago.
