Pool Communities in Clayton, North Carolina.
There are a number of communities in Clayton with pools of various sizes and amenities.
Riverwood Athletic is probably the biggest and best known. Riverwood which has an outdoor pool with slide, diving board, wading pool with the mushroom! They also have an indoor heated pool and a very active swim team. The pool is attached to the athletic club. You do not have to be a resident of Riverwood to join the pool. If you have a membership it allows you to use the pool at Lions Gate in Clayton, Mingo Creek in Knightdale,and Hedingham in Raleigh.
Flowers Plantation in Clayton has a huge outdoor pool with a very cool slide and mushroom shower and a separate toddler pool, the pool is large enough to accommodate everyone. They also have a luxurious indoor pool perfect for lap swimming. The pool is attached to the state of the art fitness center. Non resident memberships are available. There is a swim team.. There is a snack bar and plenty of seats.
Glen Laurel in Clayton, is the older of the communities and as such the pool is a little smaller. It is situated next to the clubhouse of The Neuse golf course. It is a private club for the residents of Glen Laurel. They offer swim and tennis lessons and there is a swim team.
Portofino in Clayton has a zero entry salt water pool, great for toddlers and the not so flexible, it offers a cabana with fans, plenty of seats and recliners and umbrellas for shade. There is no lifeguard and so residents have an electronic key to gain access. There are no time limits. It is restricted to the residents of Portofino. Portofino has a luxurious clubhouse and piazza for the residents to use. There is an outdoor fireplace and seating area where the residents can relax and entertain.
Tuscany in Clayton is one of the newest pool community's and has a Junior Olympic swimming pool, splash pool with mushroom fountain and playground. There is a community clubhouse for residents to socialize.
