Hurricane season 2011 is almost here
Hurricane season 2011 is almost here. Are you ready? Hurricane season here is June 1 to November 30 each year. Here is the list of names will be used for named storms that form in the North Atlantic in 2011. Arlene, Bret, Cindy, Don, Emily, Franklin, Gert, Harvey, Irene, Jose, Katia, Lee, Maria, Nate, Ophelia, Philippe, Rina, Sean, Tammy, Vince, Whitney. Experts are predicting an active season since they expect La Nina to help foster the development of storms. For help creating your disaster plan, visit www.floridadisaster.org. Or visit the Volusia County emergency management web site at http://www.volusia.org/emergency/ for updated information and a PDF disaster preparedness checklist. There is also lots of information at the FEMA web site at www.fema.gov/

Just be prepared and hope we don't need to implement our disaster plans.
