A Sign of "Their" Times

By
Real Estate Agent with Palm Properties FL# SL3323876

My parents kept everything.  When they passed away I started going through their paperwork and keeping those documents that I thought I would need "later" and others that I kept because they were a "sign of their times".  The picture below is from a newspaper in 1964 that my father had kept.

My father was a Colonel in the Air Force with an MBA from Harvard and was making around $1500 per month in the Air Force.  Hard to believe considering the kind of money I have made in my 25+ year career in real estate.  Even with inflation, I can't begin to believe the cost of items then compared to today!

Susan, that was not bad money back in those days.  And it certainly went a lot further back then!  I loved reading the budget!
