I'm excited. I just found out about my outside blog. I did a test post and voila, it appeared in 3rd place on google. I just put in a few words to test it.
Now I need to get busy and do more posts. I get more value out of Active Rain every day. I just need to learn to use all the features and keep up the posting. Thanks, Active Rain.
Isn't it cool? Sending yourself OUT THERE...then you have to decide on each post, "Do I WANT to send this out to the world??" Sometimes not. It adds a bit more thought to the process.
Doing localism posts is huge for getting you more exposure on outside blogs, too. Highlighting local businesses or history is worthwhile, but can keep you BUSY. It all comes back, though!

Debra, I post to my outside blog anytime my post is about the Minot ND area. Of course this makes me blog even more just because of the reason you discovered, if you blog about an area google picks it up and you become the expert on that area.
Hi Debra! I too post to my outside blog each post--unless it's members only--and have gotten good traction from it. Congrats on your success with it--keep it up!
Debra--One of these days you are going to have to post a tutorial with all you have learned about this for those of us who do not use this feature. I would love to know more!!

Listen to Steven's Thursday webinar on outside blogs. It's good stuff, and teaches you alot. Then when you've tackled it, listen to it the following week to see what you missed! After all he is the world's Most Famous Blog Trainer!

Hey Debra~ Yesterday I got my FIRST phone call off my Outside Blog! Granted it was someone who thought I was in charge of a local event, but that's ok. At least I know he read the post and was able to find my contact information! I was on Cloud 9!
