Have you ever called the wrong number only to hang up. wrong christina oneal

You just don't know what to do. Sometimes you might try & google that person but there are 15 million hundred John Smith's in your city. Well my pay it forward opportunity came early this week.

I just got a call from a nice lady up in Sacramento (1 hour drive North from me). She was looking for Kristi O'Neal. Now I am "technically" Kristi O'Neal but really I go by Christina or Tina. So I tell her, "You know, I'm not her but I've seen her for sale signs up in the Sacramento area. Is she a realtor?" I immediately said I can find her number for you, just one second while I look up in our MLS (thankfully we share the same one) what her number is.

That was easy. She was happy. This lady on the other end was told she really needed to get a hold of her & it was a funny way to get her. love it :)

Christina, many years ago, when I was a brand new rookie in real estate... I was doing "floor time" in the office. I was scared silly, had no clue what I was doing, but was trying to fake it as well as I could.

The phone rang, and it turned out to be a wrong number. They miss-dialed by one digit. They were looking for a restaurant, and wanted dinner reservations. When I answered, they asked for "the dining room."

I told them that they were probably calling the Quail Hollow Inn... for the restaurant. I then... being silly and now knowing any better... I told them that although I could not connect them TO the dining room, that I was a Realtor, and I could definitely find them a great home with a wonderful dining room of their own.

Strangely enough, they really liked my answer... and we began to chat. Turns out they had been thinking about getting out and "looking at homes." We ended up setting aside a time to get together... and about six weeks later I found them a great home. We did the paperwork, and they closed on it in about three weeks after that.

So... wrong numbers can turn out very well !

Christina, getting the wrong number call is an opportunity. You never know what you might find out and where it will lead. Moreover, helping others makes us feel great.

That was nice of you... reminds me somehow a lady in Pleasanton kept emailing me her order for the Easter Bunny to come to her party. She must have sent me that fax 6 times. I did call and tell her, but she kept faxing me. Finally I just faxed it to the Bunny myself. I hope he showed up.

And Christina, it was such a crazy afternoon. I was just being silly when I answered her that way. I wasn't being curt or smart-alecky... just being silly, Newbie me. But... I guess they really liked me and my attitude. Way cool !
