A Stunning Mid Century Modern Home in Bel Air - 1711 Stone Canyon Rd, Los Angeles

Real Estate Agent with COMPASS DRE# 01339266

Every so often I see a listing on The MLS and I fall in love with the place.

It happened today.

This recently listed 1961 3-Bed 3.5-Bath (located in Bel Air on prestigious Stone Canyon Road) was built by late architect Richard Dorman and is a classic example of the clean and crisp lines of Mid-Century Modern architecture and style.

According to The MLS the home has "a free-flowing floor plan with open living and dining areas". Features include terrazzo floors, a fireplace in the living room, and glass walls". There's also "The newly enhanced, luxurious master suite with a sensational spa-like bathroom and spacious walk-in closet".

Public records indicate the house was last sold for $2 Million back in 2003 and was listed For Sale in 2009 at $4.2 Million. At that price the property didn't sell. Now at $2,895,000 this looks like a great deal!

Check out the Listing Agent's website for more on this beautiful property.

Mid Century modern has gained popularity in the past 10 years, or so.  To me it's interesting how and why tastes have changed.  There's a Eichler cult up here.  Eichler built large numbers of mid century modern tract home on the San Francisco peninsula.  Until about 10-12 years ago they were very unpopular with buyers, but now they're very popular.  Why the change?

Nice photography, too.  Great wide angles, not over-processed.  Now I'm curious to learn who the photog was....
