Help Your Sellers De-Clutter

By
Real Estate Agent

De-cluttering is one of the most stressful and difficult tasks for most sellers and may require some hand-holding and a few nudges.  Here are a few tips that work wonders:

  • Have a stager give a consultation (at agent's expense) on what should be removed/left during the selling process
  • Supply the sellers with boxes and labels to start packing up the non-essentials
  • Pay for the first month of offsite storage for the boxes that your seller fills
  • Arrange for movers to pick up the boxes and take to  storage

Clutter certainly does deter from the showability of a listing.

Good advice Colleen.  Having any type of clutter around is a distraction to buyers.  When in doubt, pack it up and get it out of the house.

Colleen--Thank you for your this post.  As a stager I love #1, of course.  I think your offer to your sellers is generous and I'm sure it helps you sell homes faster.
