One of the things I love to do in Brooklyn is go to the many house tours that many neighborhoods, such as Clinton Hill, Crown Heights and Lefferts Manor, hold each year.
On Sunday, June 5, 2011 between Noon and 5 pm, the Lefferts Manor Association is holding its 41st Annual Prospect Lefferts Gardens House & Garden Tour. For $25 ($20 if you buy a ticket in advance) you can tour eight turn-of-the 20th-century residences and several private gardens.
Buried deep in the heart of Prospect Lefferts Gardens is Prospect Manor, an eight-block rectangle containing some of the most beautiful homes (you might even call some them mansions) you’ll find anywhere.
Besides the wonderful tour, you will also be able to enjoy complimentary refreshments, a wine tasting and discounts at several local merchants. You can also do a little bargain hunting at the Stoop Sale and Flea Market on Maple Street between Bedford and Rogers Avenue.
Its a great tour and a great way to experience one of Brooklyn’s many spectacular neighborhoods. For more information, go to the Lefferts Manor Associations website.
