Please Pray for Lauren Spierer's Return

Services for Real Estate Pros with RE/MAX Ability Plus

I was born and raised in Bloomington, IN. It has always been home, a place I returned to many times for holidays, football games, and Little 5. It is my safe place. It's a small college town where everyone is friendly; a relative Pleasantville. So when people like Lauren Spierer go missing, it gives me a sad reminder that even in a small town, a perceived safe-haven where I spent my childhood, there are still dangerous and hurtful people out there.

That is why it is extremely important, especially for girls, to be aware of your surroundings at all times. And please, NEVER walk home from a party or from the bars alone. Even if you are on a college campus and you think it is safe. Anything can happen.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Spierer family. I ask that you pray as well, that Lauren returns home safely, and soon.

Christie, I saw this on the national news.  It's important to be aware at all times and be prepared to defend yourself as well.  As an agent, you shouldn't be doing open houses by yourself, or walking by yourself, etc.  (Sorry, it's the mom in me because you're cute and tiny and could easily be taken advantage of!)

Christie- as a younger lady I constantly try to remain aware of what's going on around me because you just never know when something could happen. We are far more vulnerable than we allow ourselves to think and unfortunately there are ppl out there looking to do harm to innocent victims. "I never thought it could happen to me," resignates through my mind a lot. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this young lady returns to her family and friends safely.

Linda - those are also great tips to keep in mind as a Realtor. I've heard stories of agents getting attacked or taken durring open houses. You never can be too careful. Don't worry, I always have someone with me! I appreciate your comments.

Margie- The "it will never happen to me" mentality is definitely a problem. Things can happen to anyone and we need to be aware of that! Thank you for your thoughts. The Spierer family can use as many good thoughts as they can get.
