Do you have clutter on your desk, in your mind, in your life? Here are some ideas for making a fresh start to “de” cluttering today:
Why be organized? It saves time & money. It reduces stress. However; if you can find what you need when you need it, you are organized.
Do you have lots of piles? Although, you may think you are organized this way, if you start eliminating the clutter it will give you room to breathe. Now, this can be refreshing!
Working from home? That is great! Be sure to designate a working area so you can focus on the business at hand. If not, it will be difficult to focus on work with many other distractions. You can also inform your family and friends what hours you plan to work so there will be fewer interruptions.
Should you keep it? It is not only about throwing away items to de-clutter, but you can decide what is important and design a system that works for you so you are free to grow.
Work out of your car? We are constantly on the go, but if you find you spend way more time in your car than in your office, get a portable file system going. Get a file box large enough for your files, business cards, maps etc.. Some have lids that can be used for writing on.
Create a routine! We are creatures of habit, so use that to your advantage. Do the same thing with your mail or papers every time and it will become a habit and things will keep organized. File the papers when you are finished with them, don’t make a pile.
HOW DO YOU GET “DE”CLUTTERED? We hope some of the items will help you become a more successful “de”clutterer.
