Wow, what a weekend. Ohana has had a eventful couple of days including a lock-in, Fall Festival and a concert. I was so proud of many of our students this weekend. Friday night's lock-in allowed us to have a time of fellowship and fun while we set-up the Fall Festival. What can you say about Saturday? All day we had a group of students and adults preparing for out 3:30 start time to our fall festival. At first, we were a little concerned about people showing up. It started a little slow, but then we began to have our "boomer crowd" show up. They brought kids, decorations for their cars, costumes and appetites. (I really want to say I appreciate this group of adults the 40 and 50 somethings very much for their support.) They really know how to party. We put many hours of labor into this event and our fellowship coordinator Nancy Whaley took many of the duties on before the event. I want to thank everyone who brought cakes, chili, gifts, prizes, decorations,  candy and  their  good  work ethic to make this event a success. We also want to make sure we pray for Matthew to get better. We had a teenager Lee or Lauren (however you know her) won the contest, I'll have to say it was pretty good chili. Whoever made or bought the Italian cream cake Jeannette and Seth won, all I can say is God has truly blessed your ability to bake or purchase cakes and any outreach to the youth director in the future by baking an Italian cream cake for him would be truly appreciated:) We are truly blessed at St. Paul for all of the good people we have. We raised over $450.00 through your generosity. This evening I got to end the evening at a concert at Fountain City United Methodist with the Central Choir. Two of St. Paul's finest students are in the choir. Grace Black and John Lakin were apart of a beautiful music experience of an eclectic mix of spirituals from many different composers. The director stated tonight that this group will be attending a large national convention that only a few choirs are invited to attend. After the concert, a few of us went to Marble Slab for a couple of scoops of creamy bliss. What a weekend.
