Venice Florida Beaches
Venice Florida has six beaches. All with their own beauty and purpose. Venice Florida beaches are listed as follows:
South Jetty
Located at the end of Tarpon Center Drive - Humphris Park.
It is a great place to fish, surf, watch dolphins, manatees, birds, and a beautiful sunset. Also watching the boats exit to the Gulf of Mexico. When the winds kick up, it becomes a haven for surfers, who come to enjoy. Picnic tables, benches, showers, restrooms and food concession for visitors.
Venice Municipal Beach
Located at 101 The Esplanade, Venice.
About 5 minutes from downtown Venice. Venice Beach is a Certified Blue Wave Beach and also received the 2008 Best Restored Beaches Award. Available are food concession, shelter, two sand volleyball courts, picnic area and boardwalks.
Service Club Park
Located on the west side of South Harbor Drive from Beach Road to City limits.
The dark color of the sand is a good place to hunt for fossils, especially Sharks' teeth. Venice is the Shark's Tooth Capital of the World. One of the best events is the Annual Sharks Tooth Festival.
Artists will enjoy the natural settings while those looking to party or relax can do so under the shelter of its pavilions. For divers, there is a coral reef dive site about a quarter mile offshore.
Amenities include sand volleyball courts, picnic tables, grills, bike rack, playground, restrooms, parking and a boardwalk to the beach.
Venice Fishing Pier
Located at 1600 S Harbor Drive. Venice.
It was completed in the summer of 1966-estimated cost of $134,000. Built of prestressed concrete by Misener Marine Construction of St. Petersburg, it was partially destroyed by the "No Name" storm in 1982. Reconstruction was done by Hendry Corporation of Tampa in 1985, using green heart timber from Guayana. It is a favorite place for fishing, strolling and watching a beautiful sunset.
Connected to Sharky's on the Pier, a landmark and the only beachfront restaurant in Venice Florida Beaches. Nearby are six picnic shelters, two sand volleyball courts, public restrooms, pavilion and Maxine Barrit Park. FREE access and open at all times.
Brohard Dog Beach and Paw Park
Located in the southern most part of the city of Venice, on the Venice Airport property on Harbor Drive.
The paw park has a separate area for small dogs. The boardwalk leads pets and their people to the only dog friendly public beach in Venice Florida Beaches. Dogs are permitted in a restricted area and times along the beach, but have the run and fun of the Gulf of Mexico. Watering hole, hitching post, picnic tables, benches, waste disposal, public restrooms adjacent to Maxine Barrit Park are available.
Caspersen Beach
The longest beach in Sarasota County. Located at 4100 Harbor Drive on Venice Island, if you enjoy walking, you may walk to South Venice private beach (Hidden Jewel of South Venice FL)
in a secluded area with scenic view of beautiful Florida Native Palm trees (Cabbage Palm) and sea grape bushes and sea oats. No lights at night, it is a place where many sea turtles nest successfully. Picnic shelter, public restrooms
