Interesting Statistic on Distressed Properties
Because we get confusing info on distressed properties all the time I looked at the data and found some interesting statistics. I found that over the last two months that if you look at the number of properties sold in Orange County you get over 1/2 of the sales.
- May sold properties 56.4% distressed
- June Sold properties 67.4% distressed
- Year to date 47% are distressed sales
Yet, consistently when I have compared what is on the market at any specific period of time only about we see that the number of properties on the market active and available for sale are more than the distressed properties. Until this June when the market appears to have changed.
- May 55.1% for the active properties
- June 35.3% for the active properties
So I am not sure if this is an anomaly or a trend.
