grill time on Maui

It's grill time, and you're invited...

We had a cow butchered, cut and wrapped last week, resulting in hundreds of pounds of grass-fed Maui beef: hamburger, steaks, teriaki beef, stew meat, roasts, dog bones, etc.  What will we do with it all?

We managed to sell off half of it right away while it was fresh, to friends and neighbors.  That still leaves the other half which we'll freeze and work through.  There will be plenty of barbecues in the near future.  You just can't beat the flavor of grass-fed Maui beef.

Happy 4th of July!  Fire up the grill and let's get started.

Georgina - I have to tell you I would LOVE to be eating beef with you in Hawaii!  BUT I will have to settle for some jambalaya in Louisiana!  Oh well!  Next time!

Louise - jambalaya sounds good to me!

Sussie - not quite, but they were related!  She'll be invited to a barbecue another time.

Finger lickin' ribs filled our gullets tonight Georgina.  It's summertime and the grilling is easy.

You look at the picture of that poor cow and talk about butchering it... :(

Georgina, almost sounds like a Cajun get-together! We normally roast a pig, hosting a cochon de lait for family and friends. We'll have to exchange samples; I don't think I've ever tasted grass-fed bovine.

Knowing that it was grass fed and local makes all the difference in the world! Sounds like healthy living to me!  :-)

Georgina - I may have to humbly disagree with you here, for the first time, LOL.  I grew up in Iowa on corn fed beef.  Hmmmmmmmm - sounds like a BBQ challenge in the making, LOL.

Laura - I'm glad you got the joke.

Kevin - BBQ ribs sound pretty good too!

Patrick - I hope you have a nice day too.

Jane - we have gotten used to it by now and don't ever get too attached to our cows!

Mike - I'll trade you a porterhouse steak for a tray of bald eagles!

Barb - yes it's tasty and lean and very healthy.

Juli - there's something to be said for that fattened up corn fed beef, but over here the grass fed beef is the new trend, so I'm not complaining!

Thanks everyone for your comments!
