Denali National Park, AlaskaI love bridges.

To me, they represent our determination to get from one place to another – even when it shouldn’t be possible. Fort Harrison bridge, IndianapolisA “bridge to nowhere?” There’s no such thing! The top photo is a rail road bridge outside of Denali National Park in Alaska. The bridge to the right is outside Fort Harrison State Park right here in Indianapolis!

Does an overpass to nowhere count as a bridge to nowhere? In its genius, the Arizona Department of Real Estate built an overpass in Scottsdale on Loop 101 even though there's no road connected to the overpass and virtually no way of building one given the topography and other facets of the area.

Pat,

I've always been a bridge lover. That's what my grandfather did for a living. Your photos are prize winning photos, in my opinion. Thank you for allowing me to see something, I may never see in person, but if I could, I'd surely want to experience it first hand.

Digital photography is one of the greatest inventions of our time. Having someone like you know how to work the camera and take pictures of bridges and places where others may never see is amazing. Thank you for sharing this gift with us. Your photos and story deserves a place to be featured in this group.
