Ahead Of The Curve -Thanks to ActiveRain!

We went to a training workshop today presented by our company Coldwell Banker High Country Realty. June Slusser, the owner of the company,, is very “pro-education” and provides lots of these type workshops for us.

Don’t stop reading just yet. I promise, this is NOT a

commercial for Coldwell Banker. It is however a commercial for the education, training, mentoring and support that we have received right here from our ActiveRain family!!

Today’s topic was Social Media and how to use the tools provide Chart d by Coldwell Banker to enhance the process. We discussed the importance of having a Facebook Fan Page, learning to Tweet (still haven’t got that one), using Linked-In, and Blogging. We also discussed the importance of using videos not only of our listings, but of things going on in our town, in our neighborhood, etc.

Each time the presenter asked “who is using this” or “who is using that” it was nice to know that Bill and I were somewhat ahead of the curve and were already using “this” or “that”.

We’ve got a lot to learn still but I know you guys will be here every step of the way, encouraging and cheering us on.

You're definitely on top of learning and implementing the wide range of technology tools available. I'll tell you, honestly, that there are a LOT of agents here in Silicon Valley "the heart of the technology industry" who don't have a clue how to use most of what's out there. The vast majority have no idea how to blog, tweet, or work on social media. Consider yourselves ahead of the curve and doing great!

Bryan - I think you're right about that for MOST areas. There are many people who remain in the technology dark ages because they refuse to accept change. Unfortunately, these are the agents who will be falling by the wayside soon. Imagine how cool it's going to be to show houses when we can "beam" ourselves from house to house without having to drive at all. Or even take our "jetsons" style vehicle through the galaxy!!
