Is The Real Estate Market Slow? I wouldn't Know.

It has been an incredible summer for my business partner, Will and I.  We have been busier than we have been in years.  As I am running through my office trying to keep up with all the tasks at hand, I hear rumblings from other agents about how slow the market is and what can they do to get some business.

Word of Advice: Get out of the mind set that business is slow.  There are many folks out there who want to buy and sell real estate.  Success can be achieved with the right frame of mind.  THINK POSITIVE!

thumbIt's always amazing to me how success attracts more success.  It seems that the busier we get, the more people want to hire us.  I love it.

Maybe its because we convey an upbeat message to our clients and they see just how busy we are.  I guess they want a team working for them that is successful.

We recently went on a listing appointment where the folks said their previous agent put a sign in the ground and they didn't hear from their agent again until it was ready to expire.  We don't get paid on listings until they sell, so why not market the heck out of the home so you can actually sell it.  As we left, they sellers looked at each other and said "I think they are actually going to sell our home.  We better start packing."

So if you're in a slump and need to climb out of that dark hole, just change your frame of mind.  Be positive and the world will change around you!

Good advice, Belinda.  A positive attitude goes a long way for real estate professionals.  Also, you pointed out the difference in results when you compare active marketing with passive waiting for something to happen.

 Blooming for you!

Belinda, glad to hear your business is going so well! I've also been incredibly busy, but have had many bumps and issues over the past few months so the getting paid part has been very slow... However, it looks like August is going to finally pay off with a bunch of closings, thank goodness! Plus I'm planning a vacation for late August, and you know that always means business will come flowing your way!

I've been running ragged with clients, and we've got lots of offers out there, but almost all of them on short sales, so maybe around, oh, June 2012 I'll be rolling in the dough! LOL

Belinda, True ~ attitude is the key. We have heard the same from several homeowner's that their previous agent only put out a sign. They never heard from them and only did when the seller called them. Positive energy and actually working for your clients to sell their home ~Think Positive!

Just from following yours and Wills blogs I know you both are fun, postive, upbeat people who have a blast each and every day selling real estate. So attitude is everything. :0)
