Annie's Angels, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for Seacoast NH families that cope with cancer, muscular dystrophy, AIDS and other diseases and disabilities.

Annie's Angels Memorial Fund Inc. was founded by Bill and Diane DaGiau in 2007. Their early fundraising events were based on bicycle marathons in which Bill actively participated all over the Northeast. Now they have expanded their fundraising efforts in Seacoast NH to include fashion shows, restaurant events and The Heavenly Ball to raise funds for the NH Muscular Dystrophy Association, AIDS charities, Lion's Club Charities, the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and others.

On August 16th, you have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of families struggling with life threatening diseases and enjoy an evening of great food at the same time. Treat yourself to a fun night out, take some chances on the raffle or treat yourself to a chair massage. You will be glad you did.

For more information on Annie's Angels visit www.anniesangels.net

BTW, I am very proud of my friends Bill and Diane for all that they do. Stop by and say hello to them at Valerio's Kitchen at 72 Portsmouth Avenue in Stratham, NH. Tell them, "Some guy on the internet told me to do this."

Hi Gina - Thanks for coming by. I like your characterization of giving back with pizza...sort of, "eating it forward" :-)

Hi John, I was excited to read Portland on there and was all set to put in on my calender....but then noticed it was Maine. Who could pass up pizza with local organic produce AND help a most worthy cause!

John ~ now that sounds like a win-win situation.  Buy a Flatbread pizza and they give money to Annie;'s Angels?  Who wouldn't eat pizza on the 16th????  Too bad I don't live closer!

Hi Cindy - I hope someday they do expand to include the Metro Portland area! Now, I've only talked about the pizza so far. The salads are unbelievable and we always order one as a side. I'll bring the camera next Tuesday :-)

Toni - Annie's Angels is one of the charities I always blog about. Their mission is wonderful and they help so many families. There are so many people who could use some help now.

Hi Dawn - Flatbread Company does this every Tuesday night for a local charity. There is a wait of over a year to get a date for your charity! Over the years, we have gone to Flatbreads in Portsmouth, NH or Newburyport, MA on nearly every day of the week, but it feels so much better to patronize them on Tuesdays, when they are helping a cause within the community.

Hi Joan - We had a GREAT turnout. The place was packed all night! CASA of NH, The Chase Home For Children and Annie's Angels are all non-profits who all have fundraisers at Flatbreads. All these organizations, I have some connection to. I also posted a blog for this event on Patch.com. Patch is a sister company of AOL, but they are not in CO yet. Patch is the ultimate "neighborpedia" with local news, weather, restaurants and business listings. If it about your town, you will find it on Patch. There is even a community board where anyone can post upcoming events. I have been approved to post blogs on Hampton-North Hampton Patch, Exeter Patch and Portsmouth Patch, three major towns in Seacoast NH. I plan to take full advantage of this. To see what this is all about got to:   Hampton-North Hampton Patch  or just go to www.patch.com the home page. Sure hope you have a great week!

John,

Angie's Angels is a wonderful concept. I hope the event was a success. It's a great idea - so unique and delicious too!

Pizza and charity - they go hand in hand. Sounds like a win-win to me! It's kind of like getting your cake and eating it too.
