I Realize Now Real Estate Blogging Is A Waste Of Time.

By
Real Estate Agent with MOOERS REALTY ME Broker License 106759

Blogging about real estate property listings, the local community events is a waste of time unless approached with a mindset of doing it a particular way.

Like swinging for the outfield stands. maine lake tubers The right way for effective real estate blogging begins with one basic ingredient for every screen of electrons you hunt and peck.

Put on the overhead projector for the world to be able to see and graze, munch on as food for thought.

How you say it is as important as what you say to make folks ponder.

To help on line surfers save time, gas, money with your real estate blog post having a purpose.

But delivered in a way only you can craft naturally. One consistent approach unique to your style and personality so your "voice" is transparent, real, genuine.

But also there is an issue of frequency to increase the horsepower, presence, reach around the Global Village.

Like exercise regiments, routines that start off gangbusters every January but fizzle by February.

Where the local gym guy that hands out the towels could not pick you out of a line up as a familiar recognized face of a regular patron because you have been seriously AWOL from the treadmill.

Deciding to blog post once in a while is like watching television where someone hooks up the cable, dish, antennae for a few minutes to tease, then removes it for long dark static periods. And suddenly without warning turns the volume up and down. To add to the what's going on experience, confusion.

The guy or gal watching, huddled on the couch gives up.

Heads for the kitchen, opens the refrigerator, develops a thousand yard stare to look for a snack out of boredom.

Like exercise, blogging so many times a week is not as effective as every day.

Like flossing more than just the week going in and coming out of a dental visit. Trying to do any exercise three times a week means you fall off the wagon, it's like on and off intermittent fire fly dependable for getting done consistently.

guilty dogThe best way to hard wire, solder, weld a new habit in to your DNA is daily. A routine of without thought that you do sometime during each and every day.

Why?

Practice makes perfect and hones the writing, delivery skills. The audience grows and can expect something, a tid bit carefully thought out and with a little SEO seasoning to make a consistent impression.

And like a talk show, interviews have to not just be about one topic.

So the "we've heard all that already" does not happen as one by one the surfers that entered your blogging tent do an about face and flit, bolt, leave.

Never to return.

Predictable is good with heart surgery operations events, practices. But with blogging, open it up and widen the topics selection. To increase the diversity of your audience.

Blog seeing only one person that you single out and talk to on line.

Knowing the subject covered will be like school recess when you were a little kid. And in short time, a crowd forms over by the swing set. Others notice and wander over too, out of curiosity. To see what they are missing. Blogging one on one as if you and the reader, listener, viewer are causally communicating back and forth works way way better than scripted, stilted, over their heads as if they were not in the room. Or you did not "see" them. Sense them. Cater to them.

Blog daily. Make it like an essential vitamin you take, need to connect, engage, link up with individuals you have met on line. Or hope to. Maine, one big beautiful state, more neighbors have four legs here. Discover Maine.

Sherri .. Holding you to it. More energy, more a habit done automatically, without thinking if you add it to the daily routine. Like brushing your teeth, counting your blessings, munching on three meals a day and breathing.  Make it a necessary deed, not a should I or shouldn't I. No debate in today's media rich opportunities for one person to be heard, seen by millions. You and I have the options now that did not exist without beaucoup dollars years ago. A little thing called the Internet changes the entire information delivery system and people want the details now, in many options, drive through window quick and complete.

Lynn ... You saw through the entire behind the scenes on the hunt and peck essence, motive for this one. I doth protest too much. Blogging is the fresh content search engines need for a very hungry public. Don't deliver it and step up to the typewriter with the television on top as some folks not on line call it and others wearing the blue and gold "R" will push you aside and deliver. Blogging is not like donating one of your kidneys to a stranger should I or shouldn't tough. It's fun. Think of the questions you get asked over and over each day. Make that in to a well written, tight and loaded with just the right images, video embeds, helpful links to help people. Give them what you would want if on the other end of the tin can and string signal. If the mouse was your hand and you had an inquiring mind.

Rosalie .... Rin Tin Tin is feeling sheepish, just got scolded by his Mom for not blogging at an early age so he never knew any other way. Habits don't require thought. You may see blogging as a chore, hard to crank out 3 to 5. But if you saw a rotation that made the phone ring, emails to pick up, office visits and listings to multiply exponentially, suddenly you would have tomorrow's blog post all written in your head while morning showering. Juggling kids, home but excited about today's daily offering. Your sellers are looking for them too. Showcase a property today, the local community event with images you snapped tonight and blog about tomorrow. Blogs don't have to be epics, 500 words or less is nothing if you are describing a listing you are some kind of excited about.

SMP ... The top one is two youngest kids tubing on a Maine lake with friends under blue skies and a summer sun. Carry your camera, keep the safety off and be ready to capture, shoot something local, unique to where you live, work and play.

Pam ... No debate with you, you are going to blog daily. Period. That is a habit when you look back over the months and when you do a Google, Bing, etc search and more than one of your blogs, websites, videos, whatever show up like a win, place, show trifecta at the local horse race track daily double. Videos increase your chances of a front page search index position by fifty times. Pretty neat to see the little video mini player thumbnail appear and the views tell you many can not resist toggling it. Because watching, listening and TV viewing is second nature, a habit, a desire for information and entertainment experience. Engage, connect the way the audience wants. Blog from the local cub reporter perspective.

Ruth ... The best time to get in to a real estate market is when the incline is straight up and everything you do it knock down drag out tough. I started in 1980 with a time of oil embargoes, 16 percent adjustable rates and first home mortgage a 12.25 which I felt like Donald Trump to secure, wheel and deal pull down.  I appreciate your sentiments and candor. Adjust the sails for the wind you have. If you gather lots of inventory, listings fairly priced like a little red hen in the next few months, when the market swings and believe me it will, you are like Lance Armstrong putting on a yellow shirt and sailing warp factor five down the next real estate hill. Boatloads of closings, trips to the long table with all the cushy, high back leather chairs around it will happen. Train for that. See that goal and target and peddle harder, smarter. Blogging results are not always instant but gradual. I am glad you ARE blogging but hoping for better results. This is the place to learn how to tweak, tighten up and remove any blogging wrinkles, slack in the marketing operation. Thanks for popping in. I'll stop in to your blogging tent and return the favor, have a looksy around your posts.

Good eye catching title. Many aim for long blogs that will loose the reader after the first paragraph. It the blog has quality content I will read and subscribe. A writer whose style is consistent gets my vote every time.

Liz and Bill ... Thank you kindly. We make neat friendships banging in to each other daily and learning about other areas, being connected nationwide with other real estate agents, brokers, REALTORS.

Fernando ... Puppy a bag blog...I mean bad dog but being trained to do his business outside if you know what I mean. Guilt from not blogging is the same feeling, where we all should get the same hang your head, puppy dog droppy eyes. It is important. But you are in or out. Do or don't. Like breathing, there is no in between.

Carolyn ... Wasting time with blah blah fluff is a sure fire way to shoot yourself in both feet. Ouch. Why would someone benefit from a blog post...like a news reporter that brings you the facts but delivered in your own special way, "voice". Blogging is so much more engaging with more than copy, but imagery, video, maps, graphics so it is a full meal deal. Using all the media. You can not crank out a from the heart blog without the passion, details in a few minutes. It shows if you don't spend the time and others ask why bother coming back when they leave empty handed. With nothing from the experience.

Mike ... So true. Your first blogs, mine, everyone eyeballing this post had See Dick See Jane, Where Is Puff And Spot simplicity and were crude, primitive until you developed a rhythm, got the hang of it and were "on pitch" making something worth reading, commenting on.

Chuck ... Thanks! Like your videos you are developing as well. Keep it up.

I agree with your perpective that a haphazard approach to blogging is probably going to produce less than desired results.  Blogging everyday is a habit, one that is not easy to form, but the benefit is going to be accomplished through many of the reasons that you talk about.

Richard ... Thank you for your kind words. Cross pollenation of your efforts is key. Deep links and use of all the media options combined for a powerful marketing punch is not elusive. Just requires consistent effort, daily stocking of the shelves and creating the content the public needs, the search engines harvest and showcase if "wired" correctly. One blog platform is not enough and think broadcasting "chain" with each link, transmitter heard around the world fine tuned for this audience, that segment of the wild blue yonder of folks to connect, engage, communicate with on a daily basis.

Tim ... We're all here to share, show and tell. There is strength in numbers at AR University.

Tammy ... You are a good sport. The need to blog, done right means it is not a chore. It becomes too important and harmful not to. The results become clear so the need to becomes want to, like to, part of your real estate operation.

Don ... Thanks for your comment. Once a person sees the purpose, importance, then they can see the possibilities on how to apply the style, approach from their own unique market area, knowing their own make up, way they operate to create their "voice". Transparency, real is what the folks on the other end of the signal, message want, need, will get from you or somone else. Make it you.
