Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is dedicated to recognizing the accomplishments of American workers. It is a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE - Screen on the Green: Movie Nights on the Waterfall Lawn!
The Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village presents its first annual Screen on the Green: Movie Nights on the Waterfall Lawn! Kicking off Labor Day weekend, on Friday night September 2nd, the Screen on the Green Movie will be Raiders of the Lost Ark.
The movie begins at 8:00 pm, but guests are encouraged to arrive as early as 7:00 and bring a blanket for lawn seating. Admission is $20.00 per adult and $10.00 per child. Movie snacks including popcorn, soft pretzels and frozen treats are included in the admission price, with soft drinks, wine and other beverages available for purchase.

CAMARILLO - 3rd Annual Country Music Festival and Chili Cookoff
Camarillo Hospice presents lots of chili, music plus a whole lot of fun for the whole family on Sunday, September 4th, from 12 noon to 5pm at the Camarillo Ranch.
There will be live music, People’s Choice chili and wine and beer, an expanded car show and Texas Holdem Poker Tournament. There will be a variety of craft vendors and the afternoon will also feature a silent auction for a variety of interesting items and a cash drawing.

SANTA PAULA - 7th Annual Santa Paula Labor Day Parade
The 2011 theme for the parade is “Celebration of Working People.” The parade starts at 10am on Monday, September 5, 2011 on Main St. in Santa Paula. Walking groups with banners, musical groups, floats, workers riding in work-related vehicles, equestrians, and all groups representing a Labor Day theme are invited to participate.
The parade starts at 7th and Main Street and ends at the Gazebo at Santa Barbara and Mill. There will be trophies for “Most Original,” “Most Participants,” and “Best Overall Use of Theme” and will be awarded at the ceremonies at the conclusion of the parade in the Gazebo.
Celebrate life and enjoy yourself and your family and friends. Whatever you find yourself doing this weekend, have fun, stay safe and don't drink and drive. Get up, go outside and have some fun.
