Oh Pat,
This is natures beauty at its best. I can understand why you are drawn to it. It looks like a good spot to feel healthy and get in touch with nature. This is tranquility. Thank you for sharing it with us. I just love it!
The sound of the river is so wonderful. I'm looking forward to a little rain in our area so we can see more green before winter.
that creek looks kind of high, must have risen from Hurricane Irene!
Beautiful photo and what a peaceful looking spot. Would make me want to stop and read. Or take a nap.
Gretchen
The greenery really looks lush, a tribute to all the rain you have had. Thanks for sharing it looks like a nice thing to see on your way home.
Pat
No doubt there are many small creeks that are overflowing, and larger creeks and rivers that are still causing major problems in so many areas. Doesn't sound like Rock Creek reached flood stage.

Patricia, That is a very peaceful setting. Political turmoil around the corner and a few blocks away from the national political heavyweights. Too bad more of them don't chill out a bit more in some of the area's natural settings.
Pat, Rock Creek looks like a wonderful place to stop and just smell the flowers! (Did you ever find out what type of flowers they were?) Thanks for sharing this story!
This is a gorgeous photo, Pat. Look at those colors.
And here we are in the depths of a drought...if you want to hear a little crackling just step on the grass. I am soooooo jealous. Please send some our way Pat?
Please?
Oh, did it rain? And in how many places did they have to close Beach Drive last week?
Pat, i can smell the sweet flowers of the clematis paniculata (i think that is what is wafting through your area)...what a pleasant surprise...
Patricia.....That's some high water.....hope it's back to normal soon. The flowers kind of say.....there's beauty everywhere.....nice shot!
