Every time I drive to or from work, I drive along Rock Creek.  It's part of my day most of the time.  On my way home the other day, I pulled into the parking lot just north of Pierce Mill to say hello.  And the creek greeted me with a sublime scent from these white flowers along the shore.

One of my favorite things about living in Washington is the abundance of natural beauty in the city.  Rock Creek Park runs along a thiry mile path from Gaithersburg to the Potomac River - another awesome work of nature.

The sound of the river is so wonderful.  I'm looking forward to a little rain in our area so we can see more green before winter.

Beautiful photo and what a peaceful looking spot. Would make me want to stop and read. Or take a nap.

Pat

No doubt there are many small creeks that are overflowing, and larger creeks and rivers that are still causing major problems in so many areas. Doesn't sound like Rock Creek reached flood stage.

Patricia, That is a very peaceful setting. Political turmoil around the corner and a few blocks away from the national political heavyweights. Too bad more of them don't chill out a bit more in some of the area's natural settings.
