East Central Illinois Green Build Showcase This Weekend!
This year, rather than showcasing multiple homes built by individual builders, the Home Builders Association of East Central Illinois worked together on one impressive, green build project. And that project is available for touring this weekend!
Just a few of the home's numerous energy-efficient features include double wall construction with R-43 walls and R-60 ceilings, R-5 triple-glazed windows, a geothermal heating system, a greenhouse and a rain garden included in the landscaping.
One lucky buyer officially has this home under contract as of early this week. However, the home will still be showcased this weekend and seminars will be given to explain the energy-efficient features, which of course can be implemented in other new construction.
