What am I?

By
Real Estate Agent with Client First, Realtors - Canton, MI

I had a bit of a crisis today. I have been giving out a a lot of business cards lately and am at the bottom of my box. This has caused me to have to re-order my cards. My old cards were O.K., but I wanted to add some changes. A few of the changes that I have been thinking about adding are social media contacts and my Google phone number. However, the change that has stopped me dead in my tracks, is what is my Title?

My old cards simply stated my Title as, Realtor. Now this was an easy job description and a true statement. I have been thinking though, I am a Realtor... but that does not set me apart from anyone else. There are thousands of Realtors. Do I want to be know as just a Realtor.

I have observed that some Agents cards read, "Real Estate Consultant". This would be a true statement for me as well. I do consult everyday to customers and clients alike about Real Estate. This has the ring of "free" information to me though, and not a Title that communicates, I am the person that can get it done for you.

"Real Estate Expert", is another title that I have seen on cards. This may be my leading Title at the moment. I do consider myself an expert, and think that other do also. I am hung up on this wondering if it sounds a little arrogant.

Let me know what your Real Estate Title is. I would love to know and will throw them into the hat for consideration.

I think just Realtor is the way to go. Potential buyers or sellers do not know what all the letters mean...and the little advertising that is done by the NAR talks about Realtors not real estate consultants...FYI...a non Realtor agent can still be a real estate consultant.
