Things to do in Clayton,NC Today Saturday September 24TH 2011
There are lots of fun things going on in the Clayton Area today, first of the Clayton Farm and Community Marketis held on the Clayton Town Square Saturdays from 9am- 2 pm until October 29th 2011. The market is a great place to meet local farmers, bakers etc. there are all kinds of naturally raised, organic produce etc.
Sticking with the food theme down the road at St Ann’s catholic Church 4057 Highway 70 Business West they are holding their fourth annual International Food Festival. An Incrediable selection of foods from around the world will be available. Countries represented include Ireland,Italy, Greece, Guatemala, Colombia, Hungary, Honduras, USA, Poland, Mexico, India, Vietnam...plus more. There will also be music and dance from all over the world. The International Food Festivalin Smithfield runs from 11.30-6.30 Saturday September 24TH 2011
Another great time is the Johnston County Airport Open House today from 9-5. The Airport is located at 3149 Swift Creek Road in Smithfield. There will be helicopter rides for $20.00, free flights for Young Eagles ages 8-17. they have military and civil aircraft on display, want to sit in an Attack Helicopter???
There are radio controlled aircraft (they are the real deal), and the Wilson Mills Fire Department has some of their equipment to show off, wanna sit in a new fire truck???
Food, drinks, T-shirts, hats will all be available, see if you have a budding pilot in the house!
