The Seven Lakes Spartans played the Katy Tigers last night at Rhodes Stadium in Katy, Texas. The game started with Seven Lakes kicking off to the Katy, Tigers and they were out in the 1st set of downs. Katy Tigers punted to the Spartans, the Spartans fumbled deep in their own territory and there ensued the 1st score of the game a safety. However, on the kickoff that followed the Tigers mishandled the ball and Seven Lakes recovered! The Spartans went on to score a touchdown on the series. The Tigers were then held to a field goal the score 7-5 sounded more like a baseball score.
The Katy Tigers then took off and do what they do best they kept scoring. While the Spartans wheels fell apart costly stupid mistakes such as fumbles, bad snaps (we have too many of these this season), interceptions, the most stupid ones were unnecessary penalties such as late hits, face mask, and the like.
Unfortunately, these were not the Spartansthat we have seen in the past 3 weeks. The sad part is had we been the Spartans of the 1st 3 weeks the game could have a much better outcome; the Katy Tigers are good team, but in the end Seven Lakes beat themselves with costly mistakes over and over again, the play calling was predictable.
The Spartans need to shake it off as we have the Cinco Ranch Cougars and they are every bit as formidable as the Katy Tigers but not as endearing as the Katy Tigers.
