The first green community is making its debut in the Inland Empire. The Plantation at Polo in the Palm Desert Valley area will have a 770-unit gated, master planned community and will follow the California Green Builder guidelines for all of its planning and construction. The California Green Builder program was developed by the California Building Industry Association and incorporates 5 basic qualifying components: energy conservation, mechanical design and indoor ventilation, water conservation, in-home material resource conservation, and reduction of landfill waste. It is said that under the California Green Builder guidelines that new homes are more comfortable and more efficient.
