HELP!!I cannot find Make,Model,Vin number on Double Wide

The tongue has been removed and thrown away....

The cabinets have been replace. Old cabinets thrown away.

The Insurance Company does not have these numbers.

The mobile has been completely refurbished.

The Lender is requiring this before closing, even though I stated at the beginning to the Buyer and Lender that I did not have these numbers in my possession, nor does the owner.

Does anyone out there have any idea how I can get this information?

The Lender is doing an FHA Loan on this mobile.

I certainly appreciate any help I can get.

Have you checked the recorder's office for an affidavit of affixture? If the VIN number is removed, it usually means (at least in AZ) that the vehicle is legally no longer a vehicle and has been converted to real estate. If there is no affidavit of affixture, I doubt FHA will finance it. If there is no affidavit of affixture, you can get one (in AZ anyway) by calling out the Dept of Motor Vehicles to inspect and determine what they have in their records. They then issue a certificate "demobilizing" the vehicle and an affidavit of affixture can be created and recorded.

In CA-you could get the numbers from the department you pay your taxes to.....and as Ann said in AZ, here you cannot get financing on certain Mobiles/Manufactured Homes unless they are post 1976 and on a permanent foundation......I know in Missouri this isn't true as we have one there for sale....so apparently it is State Specific......Good Luck, ask your seller for old tax records......(or whoever they pay to).

Check with your property appraiser or tax office. They "MAY" be able to help if the doublewide is not considered "Real Property". Check all the windows to see if there are "RP" stickers with numbers on it. Hope you find them!
