They Are Watching You!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Fran Rokicki Realty, LLC

During your day, do you realize that people around you, are watching you?  Whether it's at your office, home, showing properties, open houses, attending seminars or networking, you are being watched.  Is your confidence in place?  Are you positive about the market and your business?  Many times, I have had a person say to me, you are just so positive and optimistic!

I say, yes I am.  Thank you.  Why not keep yourself in a positive mode?  It makes you feel better and certainly, helps those around you.  Keep yourself surrounded by positive, motivated people.  You will be amazed at what a difference it will make to your life.  Shut off the news.  It is too negative and will not help you to sell, anything.  The news is, what it is.  Too much drama, 24 - 7.  Yes, it is on, all day and all night long.  If you must watch television, find the comedy channel or an old movie.  So much, better!

Jump onto the Rain.  There is always good stuff going on, here.  Sometimes I stay up late at night, because I am caught up in all of the good stuff and information that is being shared amongst members.

Remember, everywhere you go, someone is watching you.  Watching to see what you do, say or how you feel.  I know that it is difficult in this market, but, believe me, there is good stuff going on.  You will find it, if you just believe in yourself. Attend a local seminar, community event, meeting or even, take a house tour. When someone asks you, how are you doing in this market?  Don't lie.  Just say, I am keeping myself busy.  Do you know of someone who could use a good RealtorTurn that question, into an opportunity!

While at home, try to do the same.  Be positive!  Your children are watching you, also,  Be the good role model for them and they will grow up to be positive and optimistic, too!  Oh, puppies, too!

Your attitude will direct your altitude. You can be high or low, it depends on what you choose, doesn't it?

Your photo reminded me of a home that I showed a couple of times a few years back.  It wasn't my listing, but the showings were always unaccompanied and the side door was always unlocked.  Each time I walked through the home with my clients, I would see jewelry, watches, money and all sorts of other stuff in plain sight.

Now, I know that I'm an honest person, and I'd like to think that my clients are too (I still stuck very close behind when showing this home), but one day I figured out the mystery...a wall panel that shouldn't have been loose, was.  When I opened up the "door", I saw the video recorder running.  The owners had been taping the entire showing!

So yes, Big Brother is always watching you!

So after reading the comments I have some to a conclusion:

Have a dog around that makes you smile.

Turn off the news when you just can't take it anymore.  Just a rest from the intensity does wonders.

Get some new friends :)

Frances ~ I haven't watched the news in about 4 years!  As you stated, it is negative.  I like to stay focused on being positive, too!

this is so true! It's a lot easier to be happy than to be bitter. The days don't seem so long when you just roll with the punches and stay positive. It also doesn't hurt if you don't repeat your entire day to your spouse or someone who is trying to be supportive. You already lived it once, might as well spend quality time with others than re-hashing what you can't control.:)

It's easy to fall into the trap of negativity and complaints, but who wants to hear that? Other negative people! There's always something positive on which we can focus and promote good will and good feelings. Thank you Frances!

Valerie, Yes, positive energy is contagious!  Thank you!

Kino, You bet!  Start off the day with a smile and wonders will happen to you:)

Martin, How funny!  The clients of mine, that own the house pictured above, are one of the nicest couples that I have ever done business with.  Truly, they are my A+ clients.

Marchall, You can post comments on my blog, anytime:)  Humor is the best medicine!

Christine, Honestly!  I don't understand why more people in our profession, don't get that!

Lyn, Yes, I try to check out the weather, at imes, also:)  Sometimes you just need to know, in Connecticut, if you need a jacket.  Especially, at this time of year.

Susan, In a nutshell, that's about it:)  Thank you!

Dawn, Thank you:)  It's good to know that more people agree with me, than not.

Elisa, I like you add on!  Thank you!  So true, no one really wants to hear that same bad stuff, over and over!

Olga, Exactly.  Other negative people.  Who wants more clients or friends like that?  Just walk away, not matter what your intentions, you will not save them.  They need to save, themselves.

Most rational and sane people want others to think well of us—so if we know someone’s watching, most of us tend to behave a little better. There are plenty of social psychology experiments which prove that we all act differently if someone is observing us.  If you go out every day and pretend that someone is watching you, you are going to be "on your game". Good reasoning.
